How Much Does a Missed Call Cost a Gutter Cleaning Company? (Count the Spring Visit, 2026)
In short
On Angi's 2026 gutter cleaning prices ($168 average, $145 to $450 by house height), a missed call in the fall rush costs a gutter company about $83 on a one-story house, $123 on a two-story and $185 on a three-story. In a 130-call October with 52 missed, that's about $4,118, or $108 per real customer. Most homes get cleaned twice a year, so the same missed calls also lose the spring visit, which doubles the year's loss to about $8,236.
In short: a gutter cleaning job looks too small to worry about. Angi's 2026 average is $168, and a missed call on a one-story house costs about $83. But October doesn't bring one call. In a 130-call month with 52 missed, a one-crew gutter company loses about $4,118, or $108 per real customer. And most homes get cleaned twice a year, so the customer who hired someone else this fall takes the spring visit too. That makes the year's loss about $8,236.

What a gutter job is worth in 2026
Angi's gutter cleaning price guide, updated October 17, 2026, from 37,376 verified projects:
- The average job is $168, and most homeowners pay between $119 and $234.
- House height sets the price: one story $145 to $250, two stories $180 to $360, three stories $210 to $450.
- Neglected gutters cost 10% to 50% more, and a steep roof adds 15%.
- Frequency: an average home needs one or two cleanings a year, homes near oak trees two or more, and homes near pines four.
- Demand peaks in autumn and spring.
Why height is the number to ask for
We price each call at the midpoint of Angi's range for that house height, with our own planning assumptions about who books. In the fall rush a callback saves less, because the homeowner's next call is to whoever has a slot before the leaves freeze in place. Three-story homes save even less, because fewer crews take them and the homeowner has already started down a list.
| Missed call | Worth when answered | Callback recovers | Lost per missed call | Missed | Lost |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| One-story house | $118.50 | 30% | $82.95 | 20 | $1,659.00 |
| Two-story house | $175.50 | 30% | $122.85 | 14 | $1,719.90 |
| Three-story house | $231.00 | 20% | $184.80 | 4 | $739.20 |
| Existing customer or scheduling | 6 | $0.00 | |||
| Not a job | 8 | $0.00 | |||
| Total | 52 | $4,118.10 |
The month: 130 calls in October, of which 50 are one-story homes, 35 two-story, 10 three-story, 15 existing customers and 20 aren't jobs. The crew is on ladders, which is the worst place to answer a phone, so 40% go to voicemail. That's $108.37 per missed call from a real customer.
The spring visit nobody counts
A roofer who misses a call loses one big job. A gutter company loses a small job with a second one attached. Angi says an average home needs one or two cleanings a year, and the two seasons are the ones you're already busy in.
So take the $4,118.10 and ask how many of those customers would have called you again in April. If they all would, the year's loss doubles to $8,236.20. If half would, it's about $6,177. A home near pines, at four cleanings a year, is worth more than either. This is the difference between pricing a gutter call as a job and pricing it as a customer. If you also repair roofs, our roofer missed-call math prices the bigger ticket that sometimes starts as a gutter call.
What the phone should ask on a gutter call
Three questions set the price and the schedule: How many stories is the house? When were the gutters last cleaned? Are there big trees over the roof? The first picks the row in the table above. The second catches the neglected job Angi says costs 10% to 50% more, and the third tells you whether this could be a four-a-year customer. On our plans the AI doesn't quote a job price. It takes the address and those three answers, then books the job into the open route slots you set. Our gutter answering service guide compares the options for this trade.
What it costs to answer a gutter company's phone
Local Call AI's Standard plan is $297 a month with 250 call minutes, Connected is $497 with 500, and Concierge starts at $750 with 1,000. Minutes past a plan's allowance are $0.35 each, and Standard already answers in English and Spanish. Planning call lengths: new job 3 minutes, existing customers 2, not-a-job 1.5.
| What you forward | Minutes | Standard ($297) | Connected ($497) | Concierge (from $750) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Every call (130) | 345 | $330.25 | $497.00 | from $750.00 |
| Only the calls nobody picks up (52) | 138 | $297.00 | $497.00 | from $750.00 |
At $108 per missed real customer, about three saved calls cover a Standard month in the fall rush. In a slow month that math may not hold, so forward only the calls nobody picks up, or look at whether seasonal use fits your year. We integrate with Jobber and JobNimbus only. Full plan details are on the pricing page.

Count this October's calls by house height, then check how many of last fall's customers booked again in spring. That one percentage is what decides whether your missed call is worth $108 or $216. Our missed-call calculator does the multiplication. Other trades are in our 2026 missed-call cost research.
